The Brief: A Love Story in Plastic

For the release of "Try Me" on DJ Snake’s second album (Premiere Classe / Interscope), the goal was to create a music video that stood out from the usual club bangers. Teaming up with Moonkey Creative for the Art Direction, Cuz. Studio handled the entire creative pipeline—from concept to storyboarding. The challenge was bold: tell a heartbreaking love story using only two small plastic toys, without a single human actor, while avoiding the "jerky" look of traditional animation.

Our Approach: Live-Action Macro Cinematography

We chose a radical directive: "No Stop-Motion". Instead of animating the figures frame-by-frame, we treated them like A-list actors, filming them in real-time with High-End Macro Cinematography. We focused on lighting, depth of field, and camera movement to breathe life into the inanimate objects. By treating plastic textures with cinematic respect, we projected genuine human emotion onto the toys, creating a poignant narrative where the audience forgets they are watching dolls.
